The bronze monument to Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev was erected in Munich in December 2003 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of this Russian poet and diplomat. It is located in the Poet's Garden (Dichtergarten), which is situated in the Maxvorstadt district, not far from the Hofgarten park. This green, somewhat neglected place is where Munich residents love to retreat from the city's hustle and bustle during the warm season. In one of the quiet alleys stands the monument to Tyutchev, depicting him as a refined aristocrat in the spirit of Eugene Onegin. Although he was not considered handsome, Tyutchev had a way of charming women.

The monument is a bronze statue of the poet in full height and is located next to a grotto, where, according to legend, the muse of the great German poet Heinrich Heine resided.

Fyodor Tyutchev served Russia as a diplomat in Munich, and as a poet and philosopher, he served all of humanity. Upon arriving in Munich, he met Heinrich Heine, so it is quite fitting that the monument to Tyutchev in the Poet's Garden is located next to the monument to Heine.
