The fountain "Girl with the Umbrella" is located in the central park of Kaluga. It was installed in the late 19th century, but in the early 20th century its appearance changed thanks to the sculpture of a girl with an umbrella, which a Kaluga merchant brought from a foreign trip and gifted to the city.

During the Great Patriotic War, the sculpture disappeared, and it could not be found. In 1971, it was restored based on preserved photographs.

Over time, the fountain fell into disrepair, and the authorities of Kaluga decided to renovate it. In 2010, a ceremonial opening of the updated fountain took place, timed to coincide with City Day. Today, "Girl with the Umbrella" is one of the main attractions of Kaluga.
