In 2007, on the Day of the City of Rostov-on-Don, a monument was unveiled to the great Russian poet Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov. The monument is in the form of a bust and is located in Lermontov Park on Voroshilov Avenue. Interestingly, the bust itself was made back in 1970, but it was not installed at that time, and it lay in storage at the Rostov company 'Santarm' for many years.

The bronze bust of the poet is placed on a two-tiered pedestal made of red granite. Lermontov is depicted in a uniform with shoulder straps of a lieutenant. Every year, on the eve of his birthday, literature enthusiasts gather at the monument to hold themed celebrations and poetry readings.
