On May 28, 1992, a monument to the famous Russian artists Viktor Mikhailovich and Apollinary Mikhailovich Vasnetsov was unveiled in their hometown, with the inscription "from grateful fellow countrymen." The bronze sculpture is situated on a granite pedestal, with the wall of a building visible in the background. The monument was created by the people's artist Yuri Grigoryevich Orekhov and architect Sergey Pavlovich Khadzhibarov, both of whom have since passed away.

The inscription of gratitude from the locals was not accidental. The monument is located next to the new building of the Vyatka Art Museum named after the Vasnetsov brothers. They founded the first art museum in the Vyatka province with a focus on art and history, which still bears their name today. Throughout their lives, both artists maintained a connection with their hometown, where three of their brothers lived. For their love of their hometown and their contributions to its development, Viktor and Apollinary were awarded the title of honorary citizens of Vyatka. Locals continue to honor the memory of their fellow countrymen by bringing bouquets to the monument in the cold months and planting live flowers in the flowerbed next to it in spring and summer.
