On December 3, 2019, a monument was unveiled in Belgrade to the outstanding Russian architect and white émigré Nikolai Petrovich Krasnov. Since 1922, he had lived in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes. For the last 19 years of his life, this talented man, whose works impressed even Nicholas II, dedicated himself to his new homeland. Although Serbia could not replace Russia for him, they were necessary for each other. The architect lost everything in the revolution, lost his homeland, but found warmth in this Slavic country. In turn, Serbia, lying in ruins after the war, needed such a genius, who, along with other Russian masters, restored the city of Belgrade, which had been destroyed by the Austrians, in a short time. Today, Serbs remember Krasnov with gratitude and honor his memory.

The monument, made of white marble, depicts the architect at his work desk with blueprints. It was installed near the Russian Church of the Holy Trinity in the center of Belgrade, opposite the State Archive of Serbia, built according to Krasnov's design. The solemn opening, timed to the 80th anniversary of the death of the renowned architect, gathered representatives of the Serbian government, journalists from various countries, and many grateful residents of Belgrade.
