Фото 1
A monument to the great Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova (1881-1931) has been erected in the capital of Egypt. The life-sized sculpture is located on the avenue of the Ballet Institute at the Academy of Arts in Egypt. The installation of the monument was part of the cross-year of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Egypt.

Anna Pavlova toured Egypt multiple times. The author of the monument is Egyptian artist and sculptor Osama as-Sirwi, who is also a member of the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities. He is known for his works dedicated to figures of science, culture, and art from both countries. In an interview with TASS, the sculptor noted that his work is closely related to the creation of monuments to Russian cultural figures in Egypt and Egyptian figures in Russia. He emphasized that Anna Pavlova is, for him, an outstanding ballerina, and this monument became his first work dedicated to a Russian woman on Egyptian soil.
