One of the most famous attractions of Zheleznovodsk is the sculpture of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, installed in honor of the centenary of his death. This is the first monument to the poet that appeared in the territory of the Caucasian Mineral Waters.

The monument "Pushkin by the Sea" accurately replicates the clay work of the people's artist of the USSR S. D. Merkurov. It was created by Yu. F. Smirnov from quartz sand, decorative cement, and marble chips. The height of the monument is 2.5 meters, which significantly exceeds the poet's actual height. The monument is located in the right wing of the Pushkin Gallery and serves as the main decoration of Pushkin Square.

The sculpture "Pushkin by the Sea" is installed on a two-tiered granite pedestal and harmoniously blends with numerous compositions made from natural materials found in the square. This place attracts many tourists eager to enjoy the unusual image of the poet. On certain days, literary evenings are held in the square, where participants read their favorite works of Pushkin, and then proceed to the monument to honor the memory of the great writer.
