In Krasnodar, near the regional library, a monument to the poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin has been erected. Pushkin Square is one of the favorite meeting places for the city's youth.

In 1999, Krasnodar Krai, like all of Russia, celebrated the two-hundredth anniversary of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin with great fanfare. The culmination of the celebration was the solemn opening of the Pushkin monument in the city center at the square of the same name.

This significant event was attended by regional leaders, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, guests from neighboring regions, and, of course, the residents of Kuban. To loud applause, the white covering was removed from the monument, revealing the shining bronze figure of the great poet.

Pushkin's image was captured with a thoughtful gaze and proud posture, just as the authors of the monument, sculptor Vladimir Andreyevich Zhdanov and architect Valery Ivanovich Karpichev, envisioned him.

Today, Pushkin Square remains a beloved spot for the youth of Krasnodar. Young parents often stroll here with their children, lovers meet, and one hopes that it will always be this way.

In addition to the monument to Alexander Pushkin, the square also houses the Pushkin Library, the concert hall of the Kuban Cossack Choir, and the Kovalенко Museum of Fine Arts.
