On June 12, 2011, the solemn opening of the Pushkin monument took place in Alexandria, Egypt, as part of the Russian Culture Days. The sculptor was Grigory Pototsky. The monument is located in one of the halls of the new building of the Alexandria Library. The height of the sculpture is 180 cm, allowing it to harmoniously fit into the interior. According to the author, the sharp turn of the head to the right and the cane give Pushkin an elegant appearance, symbolizing the power and spirit of Russia.

Pototsky noted that he has also created Pushkin sculptures installed in Serbia, China, the USA, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Greece, the Philippines, and various cities in Russia. In creating the statue for the Alexandria Library, he took into account Egyptian traditions, emphasizing the characteristic Egyptian plasticity. This allowed for a contrast between the head and the powerful figure.
