From the observation deck, several flights of white stairs descend down the slope. Until 1970, there was only a sandy spit here, which was reinforced and planted with trees. In 2010, the park was renovated: paths were laid and fountains installed. At the edge of the cape, a monument was erected for the city's millennium in the form of a 20-meter granite column topped with a bronze two-headed eagle from the Russian coat of arms. The stele stands on a high pedestal resembling an Orthodox church, surrounded by five figures: a prince, likely Yaroslav the Wise, a monk resembling Patriarch Tikhon, a strong warrior, a craftsman in a cap, and a young woman with a child. On the bas-relief behind the prince, there is a scene of his battle with a wild beast. Nearby is a plaque depicting the acquisition of the miraculous Tolga Icon of the Mother of God, the patroness of Yaroslavl, now located in the Holy Vvedensky Tolga Monastery. The next bas-relief is dedicated to the Time of Troubles when the city became a center for gathering the militia. Around the base of the monument is another sculptural belt reflecting historical events. Here you can see images of the founders of the Bolshaya Polotnyanaya Manufactory, Maxim and Ivan Zatrapeznov, the founder of the first Russian theater, Fyodor Volkov, the commander of the 1812 militia, General Yakov Dedyulin, the city mayor Ivan Vakhrameev, and the native of Yaroslavl, Valentina Tereshkova.
