The Lower Dacha is the place where Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich was born, as well as his sisters, Grand Duchesses Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia Nikolaevna.

After the revolution, the Lower Dacha was transformed into a museum and later became a rest home for the NKVD. During the Great Patriotic War, the palace suffered significant damage. In 1961, its remnants were blown up, and now only ruins remain. Today, you can see what this place looks like, as the ruins have been preserved. There is a project for the restoration of the Lower Dacha.

In the mid-1880s, architect A. Tomishko built a pavilion in Italian style for Alexander III, and ten years later added a children's wing at the request of Nicholas II to create a new dacha in Alexandria.

Next to the palace, on the shore of the bay, service buildings were erected, which, together with the dacha, formed a small palace-park ensemble.

On July 30, 1904, the only son of Nicholas II and Alexandra, Alexei, was born here. In this same place, the emperor signed the manifesto on Russia's entry into World War I.

In the early years of Soviet power, a museum was organized in the palace, which was very popular, but soon the building was handed over to the NKVD rest home.

During the Great Patriotic War, the Lower Dacha suffered greatly, and in 1961, the remnants of the building were blown up. A project for the reconstruction of the palace is currently being developed.
