Nicholas Chapel in Alaska, built in 1930 by Russian emigrants, is considered one of the smallest Orthodox churches in the USA, measuring 3.7 m by 5.5 m. It has been functioning for 90 years and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In the 1990s, a small onion dome appeared in the vestibule. The chapel is made of tongue-and-groove wood and has a metal gable roof, with a vestibule featuring a shed roof at one end. There are three windows on each of the long walls. Nearby, there is a bell tower with five bells.
