The village of Khipunovo is located in the Ardatov district and has belonged to the Chaadaev family since 1653. In the village stands a monument of urban planning and architecture, the Znamenskaya Church. The church has a main cold altar in honor of the Sign of the Mother of God, as well as chapels: the southern one dedicated to the Apostle James, the Brother of the Lord, and the northern one dedicated to the Equal-to-the-Apostles Tsar Constantine and Helen. The warm chapels include the southern one in honor of Archangel Michael and the northern one dedicated to Saint Princess Olga. The object dates back to 1819 and is under state protection with the number 286.

The construction of the church began in the 1790s under the guidance of Yakov Petrovich Chaadaev, the father of the philosopher Peter Yakovlevich Chaadaev. After his death, the work was continued by his wife Natalia Mikhailovna Shcherbatova, and completed by Dmitry Mikhailovich Shcherbatov, the guardian of Peter and Mikhail Yakovlevich Chaadaev. Next to the church is the necropolis of the Chaadaev family. Currently, the Znamensky skit of the Serafimo-Diveevsky Monastery is located at this site.
