Unknown Chapel in Tutayev

Фото 1
The chapel-tomb of the Maslok family was built in 1892 by special permission from the Romanov-Borisoglebsk notary Vasily Isidorovich Maslok. It was constructed after the tragic death of his young wife Maria Sergeyevna Maslok and their newborn son Sergey. Later, Vasily Isidorovich Maslok himself was buried in this tomb. The chapel blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape and looks like part of the church. It is small in size but richly decorated and made of red brick. Unfortunately, the burial site has not survived. The city also has the Maslok house, which is considered the most beautiful and memorable on the left bank. Vasily Isidorovich Maslok was born in 1869 and died in 1912. He was buried in this chapel by his second wife, Ekaterina.
