In 1879, the estate of the Polivanovs was acquired by state councilor Gennady Fyodorovich Karpov. His wife, Anna Timofeevna, was from the Morozov family. This family, known as major industrialists and merchants, owned several manufactories east of Moscow, including the Orekhovo-Zuyevo, as well as cotton plantations in Turkestan. The Morozovs, in addition to their patronage, were known as founders and guardians in the construction of Old Believer churches in the Moscow region, as they came from an Old Believer merchant family in Moscow. Therefore, next to the servants' house in the Karpov estate, a modest Old Believer prayer house was arranged. The area along the Klyazma River, from the Moscow region to the Sobinov manufactory, was traditionally inhabited by Old Believers. The only newly Orthodox church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God in Boldino was built only in 1893, and Old Believers also attended its opening.
