Unknown Chapel in Strunino

Фото 1
In the 1890s, a chapel was built in the cemetery in Strunino. During the Soviet era, there were attempts to destroy it: it was blown up and pulled with cables from its foundation, but it only tilted, not completely collapsing. The chapel, made of brick in a cubic shape, is located near garages, close to a railway crossing, practically in the forest, on the grounds of the old parish cemetery. It is not visible from the road. The new cemetery is located elsewhere. The chapel is desecrated and abandoned, however, inside one can notice fresh flowers, which are likely brought by local residents, parishioners of the Transfiguration Church in Strunino.
