On June 22, 2017, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, a significant event took place in the village of Kuzmino, located beyond Peski: a memorial chapel was opened in honor of the fellow countrymen who did not return from the Great Patriotic War. The uniqueness of this event lies in the fact that the monument was created at the initiative and expense of Anatoly Vladimirovich Emelyanov, the artistic director of the Moscow theater 'Crown of Russian Ballet' and a Knight of the Dyagilev II degree 'For Service to Russian Culture.' Although his small homeland is not connected to Kuzmino, and his parents are not from this area, he is building a house here and is the only registered resident of the village. Upon learning that every third resident of Kuzmino did not return from the front, Anatoly Vladimirovich decided to immortalize their memory, investing not only funds but also his own efforts, working alongside his father and one assistant.

The honor of cutting the red ribbon was given to Great Patriotic War veteran Leonid Ivanovich Orlov and the widow of a veteran, Tamara Pavlovna Kuryukina, a former resident of Kuzmino. After a minute of silence, the younger generation of Russia pledged to always remember the heroic feats of the people during the war.

The memorial chapel was consecrated, and a requiem service was held by Mitrophor Priest Vladimir Solovyov and the rector of the churches of St. Innocent and Sergius of Radonezh, Priest Sergey Arapov.
