The chapel was built in 2011 on the site of the former village church dedicated to Archangel Michael, by the blessing of Father Nikodim, the abbot of the Svyensky Monastery. The initiative for the construction came from the representatives of the Glushenkov family, who previously made up a significant part of the village's population. The main leader and sponsor of the project was Valery Viktorovich Glushenkov, who now lives in Moscow.
