The chapel was built in memory of the miraculous salvation of Alexander III and his family during a railway disaster near Kharkov. After this event, many similar chapels appeared in Russia. One of them was located in the village of Sloboda, not far from Babaevo in the Ilyinsky district, and stood until the end of the 1960s. Unfortunately, the chapel was demolished, but its foundation can still be seen, as a road runs through this place.
