The "Complex of the Simbirsk Alexandrovsk Provincial Zemstvo Hospital," which existed from 1801 to the 1910s, includes the "Dissection Room Building with Chapel," built in 1912. It is located in Ulyanovsk at 7, III International Street, lit. 10 A1, and is a cultural heritage site of regional significance according to the order of the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk Region.

The dissection room building was erected in 1912 according to the project of provincial architect Fyodor Osipovich Livchak. From 1914 to 1916, the chief physician of the hospital and head of the surgical department, Andrey Lvovich Polenov, worked here, who later became a renowned scientist, a full member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, and a laureate of the state prize. This building housed the pathological anatomy department of the Ulyanovsk regional hospital. In 1981-1982, a modern two-story part made of silicate brick was added to the western side of the building.

The dissection room is a one-story building with a basement, with its main facade facing north. The facade features three large windows, united by a floral relief in the form of a large arch with garlands above the windows and a floral wreath in the center. Some of the decor on the main facade has been lost, including the coat of arms of Simbirsk in the center.

Currently, the building is used by the Ulyanovsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
