The gallery opened in 1994 in a specially designed spacious two-story building attached to a residential house. Thanks to the efforts of the city administration and artists, the formation of the museum collection began. The city administration acquired forty works from contemporary artists from Neftekamsk and Ufa, while seventeen paintings and graphic works were donated. Today, the gallery's collection includes 175 works.

In 2008, the gallery was closed for reconstruction due to the impossibility of further operation. In 2013, with the support of the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan, R.Z. Khamitov, and the Head of the Neftekamsk administration, I.F. Garifullin, the building's renovation was completed.

On August 27, 2013, the 'Miras' art gallery reopened its doors to visitors. Among the branches of the Bashkortostan State Art Museum named after M.V. Nesterov, the Neftekamsk gallery has the largest area, 1315 sq.m. The exhibitions are located on two floors. In addition to exhibitions, chamber concerts, poetry evenings, and other events take place in the gallery's halls.

The gallery offers guided tours and hall rentals for events. It has come to life, and each new exhibition opening at 'Miras' becomes a true celebration of visual art, as the exhibits look especially grand in such an unusual and spacious hall. Live instrumental music and vocal performances, traditionally accompanying the openings of exhibitions, resonate in the hall with special acoustics, giving deep significance to the event, thanks to collaboration with musicians and performers from the city. Every time there are spectators in the hall, music plays to enhance their emotional perception of the works. Through exhibitions, programs, publications, and special events, the gallery promotes education and helps people understand and reflect on events, ideas, and cultures more deeply.
