In the small town of Cherepovets, one of the few architectural masterpieces is the impressive pre-revolutionary estate of the Galsky nobility. It was founded in the 19th century by another local noble family, the Kudryaevs. During the Soviet period, only the sky-blue main mansion remained, which itself is an important monument of a bygone era. The history of the estate begins in 1814, when the Kudryaev family started building their ancestral home. In 1848, it passed to the Galskys, who became related to the previous owners. Under the new owners, construction was completed and the area around the two-story mansion with an attic was landscaped.

Unlike many other noble families, the Galskys did not become impoverished; on the contrary, they successfully developed their business and were well-known in the region. The estate housed cheese and butter factories, and trade in oats and rye was conducted. However, the arrival of Soviet power interrupted this development: the family's property was confiscated, and the fate of the former owners remains unknown. In the following decades, the mansion housed a technical school and a dormitory, which led to the deterioration of the estate. The 1952 renovation destroyed a significant part of the interior decor and exterior design. After that, 19 families lived in the house simultaneously, and only in the early 90s did restoration begin. The dormitory was evacuated, and the estate was transferred for the creation of a museum, which opened in 2009 and now once again delights with the beauty of provincial classicism.
