Church of St. George the Victorious in Arzamas Monastery

Фото 1
The church above the Holy Gates, dedicated to the great martyr George, was built in 1684-1685. This brick building in the classical style, topped with a small dome, had two-story cell buildings on its sides. In 1806, the abbot Evgraf constructed it in the center of the western wall of the monastery on the site of the previous stone gate church from 1684. It served as the household church for the archbishop's quarters. In 1921, the church was closed, and the domes were dismantled.
