The museum's exhibition is dedicated to the history of Dubovka, which was initially the capital of the Volga Cossack Army and later became a major trading settlement in the Tsaritsyn district of the Saratov province. The museum also features thematic exhibitions that tell about the archaeological site "Vodyanskoe Hillfort" and about the Dubovka district during the Great Patriotic War. Additionally, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts and fine arts are held.

Interestingly, the museum's collections were gathered through voluntary donations, and no exhibit was purchased for money. The museum actively organizes various thematic events and excursions, including those around the city of Dubovka.
