The Museum and Exhibition Center 'Samara Space' is one of the youngest museums in Samara. Its official opening took place on April 12, 2001, in the year of the 45th anniversary of Samara's space engineering.

In its very first year of existence, the museum became the winner of the regional competition 'Tourist Brand of Samara Region' and was included in the list of must-see points on city and regional excursion routes.

The facade of the museum is adorned with a real rocket, the only vertically installed Soyuz launch vehicle in Europe, fully assembled!

The monument of the Soyuz launch vehicle at the Museum and Exhibition Center 'Samara Space' is located in Samara on Lenin Avenue near the 'Rossiyskaya' metro station in honor of the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight.

The complex of the monument and the museum building represents a unified architectural solution, recognized as one of the most successful in the city in recent years. The project was developed by architects V.N. Chicherin, A.F. Temnikov, and V.I. Zhukov.

The pedestal for the memorial rocket is the building of original design, which houses the 'Samara Space' museum. The total height of the rocket along with the building is almost 55 meters.
