The municipal budget institution "Museum and Exhibition Center" was established on July 1, 2011. The museum is located on the first and basement floors of a modern 16-story residential building, with a total area of 1,555.3 sq. m, of which 737.5 sq. m is allocated for exhibition halls, and 96.9 sq. m is occupied by storage facilities.
The museum's permanent exhibition is a harmonious blend of rare museum collections, modern multimedia technologies, and original design solutions, giving the museum a unique and contemporary appearance.
The open exhibition space offers an unforgettable view of the North: the shimmering northern lights, the wealth of nature, the culture, everyday life, and traditions of the unique indigenous people of the North, the Khanty, as well as the history of Kogalym and the region's oil industry.
