The Hermitage-Kazan Museum and Exhibition Center is located in the building of the former Junker School within the Kazan Kremlin and is the first branch of the State Hermitage in Russia. The collaboration between the Hermitage and the Republic of Tatarstan began in 1997 with the exhibition "Treasures of Khan Kubrat." Since then, the center has become a venue for exhibitions of Hermitage collections, and it was officially opened as a full-fledged museum in late summer 2005.

The museum halls feature paintings, graphics, and ancient artifacts such as gold and silver household items, weapons from the 8th and 13th centuries, and other artifacts, as well as contemporary art installations. One of the most valuable exhibits is a 9th-century vessel resembling Aladdin's lamp, which is being shown to the public for the first time after restoration in St. Petersburg.

In addition to the main exhibition and temporary displays, the center offers visitors the chance to participate in interactive historical games, celebrate events, and attend lectures and workshops from leading specialists of the State Hermitage.

The museum's creators believe it is worth visiting 2-3 times a year to familiarize oneself with the significant exhibitions. Before visiting "Hermitage-Kazan," it is recommended to check the current event schedule.
