On March 13, 2014, the first Housing and Utilities Museum in the Moscow region opened in the Kolomna Kremlin. This unusual museum is located on the banks of the Kolomenka River, next to the Marinkina Tower, in a building constructed in 1902. Previously, this building served as a reservoir for drinking water. In the early 20th century, water was supplied here from two artesian wells, 120 meters deep, drilled nearby in 1897. Now, the reinforced concrete cylinder, 10 meters in diameter and 5.58 meters high, has become a museum space divided into three tiers: the two lower ones are in the former reservoir, and the upper one is above it. In the center of the exhibition is a model of engineer Shukhov's water tower at a scale of 1:5.

Visitors to the museum can trace the history of Kolomna's municipal services. Textual information is supplemented with illustrations and real exhibits. The lower tier presents the history of Kolomna's water supply, gas services, and urban development from the 19th century to World War II. Photographs showcase examples of early 20th-century houses, street perspectives, and panoramas of Kolomna's parks. Surrounding are parts of a real Russian stove, a garden bench, a famous collapsible water column from which water flows, as well as sewer manholes, heating radiators, and much more. A poster catches the eye with the call: "Kolomna residents! Let's make our city the cleanest in the Moscow region."

The second floor features a panorama of the city from the early last century. Here, one can see Zhitnaya Square with its trading rows, Astrakhan Street with Shukhov's water tower, residential buildings, and the Yam Tower.

The exhibition on the upper tier is dedicated to the modern achievements of municipal housing and utilities enterprises in Kolomna. Here, one can learn about their history, see photographs of leaders and top performers. A model of an operating power station, which lights up a small wooden house, is also presented.
