The estate-museum of Sergey Vasilievich Rachmaninoff 'Ivanovka' is a major global center dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage associated with the life and work of this outstanding Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. A significant part of his life, from 1890 to 1917, was closely connected with this estate, where many of his creative ideas originated and took shape.

Rachmaninoff preferred to spend summers in the Tambov region, at the Satins' estate, Ivanovka, which he loved dearly and later purchased from his father-in-law. He actively engaged with the estate, investing his efforts and resources, taking an interest in agricultural matters, and organizing work, acquiring modern equipment for farming.

At Ivanovka, the composer created such well-known works as the symphonic poem 'Prince Rostislav', the First Piano Concerto, which contemporaries noted for its 'lion's grip, drive, and energy', as well as the classic of late Russian romanticism of the early 20th century, the symphony 'Isle of the Dead'.
