Kolomenskoye is a unique historical territory that is part of the museum-reserve, combining artistic, historical-architectural, and natural-landscape values. Since the 14th century, it has been the estate of the Moscow prince, and later, the royal and imperial residence.

Covering an area of 256.77 hectares in the southern part of Moscow, not far from the center, it is home to monuments of Russian wooden and stone architecture from the 16th and 19th centuries. A special place is occupied by the Church of the Ascension of the Lord, built in 1532, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the reconstructed wooden palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich based on ancient blueprints and the unique Museum of Wooden Architecture.

Kolomenskoye is located in a picturesque area with beautiful natural landscapes, where centuries-old oaks coexist with ancient fruit orchards. Museum exhibitions, displays, tours, workshops, as well as numerous festivals and concerts attract more than 6 million visitors each year.
