The Golitsyn Estate Museum is part of the Berezniki Historical and Art Museum named after I.F. Konovalov. It was opened in 1988 based on the Usolie Architectural and Ethnographic Museum. The estate buildings, including the house and the wing, are architectural monuments from the first third of the 19th century and are located on the right bank of the Kama River, north of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral.

This estate, which has undergone virtually no renovations, is the only provincial estate in the Perm region and Russia associated with the famous dynasty of the Golitsyn princes. They were known as military leaders, diplomats, state and public figures, as well as major industrialists of the Perm province in the 18th and early 20th centuries.

The estate complex includes a two-story house, a wing, a stable yard, a fenced area, entrance gates, and a front courtyard. The house was built according to the "Model Projects of Residential House Facades" developed by the state construction committee between 1809 and 1812. It represents a typical mansion for cities of that time, with a three-part composition, a flat risalit, a balcony, a large triangular pediment, and a mezzanine. The lower floor is decorated with linear rustication, and the window openings are set in niches and adorned with double keystones. The second floor, which is the main and residential area, has smooth walls and elongated windows with almost no decoration.

The layout of the floors is practically identical: the lower floor is utilitarian, while the upper floor is ceremonial and residential. The first floor housed the hallway, a common room, and the kitchen, while the second floor was designated for the living room, parlor, dining room, and study.

Originally, Prince Golitsyn's house was built as a "country gentleman's house" and was used for the residence and business meetings of the managers and staff of the Usolie-Lyonven salt works. During the Soviet era, various institutions were located here: the House of Unions, a school, district committees of the CPSU and Komsomol, the district military enlistment office, the district archive, the editorial office of the newspaper "Krasnoe Znamya," and a printing house. At the end of 1983, the house was occupied by the Usolie People's Architectural and Ethnographic Museum, and in 1988, by the Berezniki Local History Museum.

In 1985 and 1988, repair and restoration work was carried out at the estate: the enfilade of halls, the main staircase, the fireplace, the living room were restored, paintings were uncovered, and the wing was renovated. In 1995, the second floor was painted in the style of classicism. From 2006 to 2008, partial reconstruction of the fence was carried out, the balcony was repaired, outdoor lighting was installed, and the floors on the first floor were replaced. In 2017, the fence and entrance gates were restored, and work began on the restoration of the attic space.

In 2016, a new exhibition "Visiting the Master" was opened in the wing of the Golitsyn Estate, featuring items from the ethnographic collection of the BIKHM. This museum space showcases the ritual and craft culture of the peoples of the Perm region, the work of masters of traditional weaving, barrel-making, willow weaving, birch bark crafts, blacksmithing, and pottery. The project was realized thanks to winning a competition for social and cultural projects by LLC "LUKOIL-PERM" and the support of the Ural Regional Institute of Museum Projects.
