The museum "Traditional Boats of the Belozersky Region" is dedicated to fishing, ancient boat-building methods, and the crafting of fishing gear, as well as the lifestyle and customs of our ancestors who were fishermen.

The museum's exhibition is based on the private collection of boat master Mikhail Stolyarov. He engages in wood carving and carpentry, creating boats and collecting historically significant items. The museum's centerpiece is the "belozerka," a large boat capable of holding up to three and a half tons of fish. Also on display are the "dolbenka," carved from a solid tree trunk, its ancient counterpart "ryukho," and the narrow, unstable "dushagubka," made about fifty years ago. In the museum's yard, you can see an oak "velboat," a fast rowing boat with sharp bow and stern, and a huge "four-legged" anchor that has not been used for about 60 years.

During tours, Mikhail Stolyarov talks about the boats, shares secrets of their self-construction, and explains how fishermen adapt to changing natural conditions.

In 2018, the museum "Traditional Wooden Boats of the Belozersky Region" was included in the list of the 15 best private museums in Russia according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
