The Museum of Technical Thought "Marfa Posadnitsa" began welcoming visitors in October 2017. It is a guest exhibition located in the wooden mansion of Morozov, where original interior elements have been preserved.

Museum staff, possessing materials about the crafts of the Gorokhovets district, which were partially presented in the exhibitions, supplemented them with new archival materials, documents, and films, creating a new museum space. The exhibitions of the museum are dedicated to the history of the emergence and development of the boiler and shipbuilding industry, which is the result of the continuity of generations of shipbuilding dynasties from Gorokhovets and its surroundings. They popularize the rare and forgotten profession of peasant workers who left a significant mark in the history of Russia through the preserved structures.

The contribution of peasant workers from the Gorokhovets district has long remained unappreciated in popular and specialized sources. This exhibition is a tribute of memory and gratitude to the people who glorified Gorokhovets in Russia and beyond.

The beginning of metal vessel construction on the Klyazma and Oka rivers became possible due to the presence of skilled workers capable of manufacturing products from metal rolling. The construction in Gorokhovets of the world's largest oil barge "Marfa Posadnitsa" is still considered by historians of the river fleet to be a significant event in river shipbuilding.

The exhibition does not aim to provide a complete and detailed coverage of all stages of metal construction from the late 19th to the mid-20th century. Its main idea is to tell about the boiler industry as a result of generational continuity, which became the basis for the creation of shipbuilding factories in the Gorokhovets district and its surroundings. The sections of the exhibition focus on specific aspects related to the development of industry, peasant work, boiler workshops, family dynasties of boiler makers, and the founders of shipbuilding factories.
