Shchurovo Hillfort is a unique museum of living history located in Suzdal. It was created based on the decorations for Pavel Lungin's film "Tsar," which was shot in this city in 2008. The museum is situated within the HELIOPARK Suzdal hotel and tourist complex, on the outskirts of Suzdal.

On the banks of the Klyuchnitsa River, a peculiar city within a city has emerged, accessible by crossing the wooden Shchurov bridge and passing through the entrance gates. Shchurovo Hillfort represents a reconstruction of a Slavic settlement from the 10th-11th centuries, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of medieval Rus and get acquainted with its culture and way of life. Here, visitors can see residential and economic buildings of the Eastern Slavs: wooden log houses, a half-buried hut, a clay bread oven, an armory, a blacksmith shop, granaries, and the field kitchen of a Russian militia. Modern urban dwellers can envision the entire cycle of agricultural work necessary for life in the ancient hillfort, from the barn and sheepfold for drying sheaves to the granaries and storages where grain and flour were kept. Inside the residential house with a gable roof, the setting of Slavic life has been recreated, and tools such as a spindle, a spinning wheel, and a grain mill are operational, allowing visitors to try their hand at managing a household in the Slavic way.

Shchurovo Hillfort houses a large collection of boats from across the Vladimir region, made using various technologies depending on their purpose, whether for fishing or transporting goods, people, and livestock. Other means of transport used by the Slavs are also presented: carts, sledges, and wagons.

The living history museum offers interactive programs. In the livestock yard, visitors can not only see domestic animals like horses, cows, goats, pigs, and rabbits but also touch them and even try milking a cow or goat. In the vegetable beds, one can engage in agricultural work, such as weeding greens and vegetables. Upon special request, Slavic games are organized, where an instructor teaches archery, swordsmanship, or spear throwing.

Guides dressed in costumes sewn using ancient techniques that reproduce Old Slavic clothing help to evoke the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. During the tour, tourists learn many interesting historical facts about the culture and traditions of the Slavs, as well as details about household management and daily life.
