The Tsvetaev Family Museum is located in the village of Novo-Talitsy in the Ivanovo region, just a few kilometers from the regional center. It is housed in a wooden house where three generations of the Tsvetaevs lived. Vladimir Vasilyevich Tsvetaev, the grandfather of Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva, was a priest. His sons Pyotr, Ivan, Fyodor, and Dmitry grew up to be respectable men. Ivan Vladimirovich, one of the brothers, became the founder of the Alexander III Museum of Fine Arts, now known as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.

The Tsvetaev family settled in this house in 1853. The house was built on the picturesque bank of the Verguza River for Vladimir Vasilyevich Tsvetaev, the grandfather of poet Marina Tsvetaeva. For 75 years, it served as the family nest. During the Soviet era, the estate was nationalized and later passed to new owners.

In 1988, the state purchased the house to create a memorial museum. Restoration took place simultaneously with the formation of museum collections. On May 18, 1995, International Museum Day, the house opened to visitors. Its cozy halls combine elements of priestly life with peasant lifestyle. Personal belongings, books, and photographs allow guests to feel the atmosphere of that time and touch its relics.

The museum maintains traditions: every year on the last May weekend, Tsvetaev Readings are held. During these days, one can meet descendants of the family, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, employees of Tsvetaev museums in Russia, local historians, and other interesting people. Literary and musical salons, meetings with musicians, writers, and poets are organized.

On the museum grounds, the first monument to Ivan Vladimirovich Tsvetaev was erected in Russia.
