The Museum of Russian History at the Holy Trinity Spiritual Seminary in the Russian Orthodox Monastery of Jordanville began to take shape in the 1970s and 1980s and was officially opened in the mid-1980s. Its collection gradually grew with exhibits donated by Russian White émigrés living here. Among them are manuscripts of diaries, personal belongings, uniforms, awards, and photographs. The museum received significant assistance from Grand Duchess Vera Konstantinovna, who transferred an extensive collection of items from the royal family, which served as material evidence in the criminal case of investigator Sokolov, who studied the circumstances of the family's demise in 1918. Currently, the museum has a modern exhibition hall, a storage facility, a large library, and an archive. The museum is managed by Mikhail Perekrestov, the son of a clergyman from San Francisco, a specialist with a background in museum studies.

The museum regularly organizes exhibitions, conferences, and lectures. In 2021, it held its first joint event with the Tsarskoye Selo Museum, dedicated to the anniversary of His Imperial Majesty's Own Convoy.

Nearby the monastery, there are several chain hotels, shops, and a ski resort.
