The museum dedicated to scout Nikolai Ivanovich Kuznetsov is located in Talitsa, Sverdlovsk region. It is a one-story wooden building with carved windows and a colorful porch.

The museum's exhibition tells about the life and feats of Hero of the Soviet Union N. I. Kuznetsov, who was born into a peasant family in the Talitsky district. Nikolai graduated from a seven-year school, then from an agricultural college and the Talitsa Forestry Technical School. He spoke several languages: Polish, German, Esperanto, Ukrainian, and Komi. Since 1930, he worked as an assistant turner and then as a worker at the Sverdlovsk Uralmash plant. In 1938, he moved to Moscow and became an agent of the NKVD of the USSR.

During the Great Patriotic War, Kuznetsov was assigned to a special group under the People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR. In 1942, he operated under the name of German officer Paul Siebert behind enemy lines, transmitting important intelligence. He reported on the locations of enemy units and the V-1 and V-2 rockets, revealed the location of Hitler's headquarters near Vinnytsia, and warned of an offensive in the Kursk area. Kuznetsov personally eliminated 11 high-ranking officials of the occupation administration. He died in 1944 near the village of Boratin in the Lviv region.

The idea of creating the museum arose in 1948 after excerpts from D. N. Medvedev's book "It Was Near Rovno" were read on the radio. Medvedev led the "Victors" detachment, where Kuznetsov served. This attracted tourists to Talitsa, and work began to immortalize the scout's memory. Employees of the technical school, journalists, and librarian Chek Yu. V. collected materials, based on which a corner was created in the library. In 1961, the museum received a separate building, and in 2008 it became a branch of the Ural Military-Historical Museum.

In 2011, on the 100th anniversary of Kuznetsov's birth, the museum underwent repairs and updated its exhibition. Among the exhibits are Kuznetsov's personal belongings, furniture from the Prokhorov family, with whom he lived, and items from his friends and comrades.

The museum halls vividly illustrate the stages of the scout's life, with one of them recreating a dugout. In recent years, exhibitions about other war heroes, such as V. V. Kirilyuk and I. I. Fedyuninsky, as well as temporary exhibitions and events on the history of the region, have appeared.

In the village of Zyryanka stands the house where Kuznetsov was born. This is a reconstruction of a historical building with an early 20th-century interior.
