The museum is not open for free visits, but tours and events can be scheduled for any convenient day.

The Museum of Entrepreneurs, Patrons, and Philanthropists was founded in 1991 with the active participation of descendants of pre-revolutionary Russian entrepreneurs, such as Morozovs, Ryabushinskys, Alexeyevs, Gubonins, Prokhorovs, Guchkovs, Rukavishnikovs, Sytins, and others. The main organizer of the museum is its curator, Lev Nikolayevich Krasnopevtsov.

Today, the museum operates as a non-governmental research, educational, and enlightenment center. It is intended for entrepreneurs, schoolchildren, students, and a wide audience interested in the history of entrepreneurship, patronage, and philanthropy. The museum highlights the worldview, lifestyle, qualities, and strategies of pre-revolutionary entrepreneurs, as well as their significant contribution to the development of Russia.

The museum's collections hold over 2500 authentic exhibits, including photographs, portraits, documents, and personal items that are monuments to the activities of the founders of the Russian industry, trade, and financial system. The museum also has a significant scientific auxiliary fund, consisting of about 2500 items, which includes copies of materials whose originals are held by the descendants of merchant families and in private collections.

A thematic library is being formed in the museum, which already contains over 3000 items and is accessible to visitors.

The museum is located in the old part of Moscow on Donskaya Street, in a 19th-century building that belonged to the famous Moscow entrepreneur and philanthropist Ivan Grigoryevich Prostyakov.

Visitors to the museum can participate in overview and thematic tours, lectures, and seminars, as well as walking tours. Concerts and fairs are held here in collaboration with charitable organizations to raise funds to help those in need.
