The Museum of Postal Service of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk is located at the end of the former Moscow Street, on the territory that previously belonged to the Udelnaya Office, and covers the period from the first half of the 19th century to the early 20th century. Until the late 1990s, there was a wooden gardener's wing here, on the site of which the museum building was erected in 2002.

In three small halls, a variety of materials are presented, reflecting the history of the Simbirsk postal service from the late 17th century to the present day. The exhibition vividly and engagingly tells about the postal service workers: coachmen, station masters, postmasters, and mail carriers, starting from the times of the Great Patriotic War to the present. Unique exhibits include items from postal office inventories, personal belongings and photographs, as well as official letters and correspondence of ordinary Soviet citizens from the 1930s and 1940s.

The history of the postal service and its functions has constantly changed, both in delivery methods and in the variety and quality of services for the population. Many pages of this history will be a true revelation for visitors.
