The Museum of Organic Culture, known as MOC, is located in Kolomna, in the estate of merchant Lvov, which is a monument of wooden architecture from the 19th century. The museum houses a collection of works by artists of the Russian avant-garde from the early 20th century, such as M. Matyushin and E. Guro, as well as works by contemporary artists. The collection also includes works by Russian photographers from the 21st century. The museum was established at the initiative of Alla Povelikhina, Nina Suetina, Vasily and Elena Rakitin, and Irina Alikina. The nuns of the Holy Trinity Novo-Golutvin Monastery also participated in its foundation. The opening ceremony was attended by actress Alla Demidova, singers Makvala Kashrashvili and Elena Kamburova, art historians Vasily Rakitin and Vitaly Patsyukov, artist Francisco Infante, composer and philosopher Vladimir Martynov, and poet Olga Sedakova. MOC is engaged in researching the history of the formation and development of the 'organic' direction in Russian art and the issues of Organic culture. The Ministry of Culture of the Moscow Region emphasizes the significance of the museum's scientific program dedicated to the organic movement in art and the relevance of this direction in Russian avant-garde in its publication '100 Museums of the Moscow Region.' The museum includes three divisions: the Museum of Arts of the 20th and 21st Centuries, the Museum of Russian Photography, and the Museum of Tradition. Each of them has its own significance, but together they provide a complete understanding of the organic in art.
