Museum 'Napolnaya School in Alapaevsk'

Фото 1
The 'Napolnaya School' was the last place of exile for representatives of the Russian imperial house before their tragic demise. They were there from May 20 to July 18, 1918, after which they were killed at the Mezhna mine by representatives of the Soviet authorities.

Since the 1980s, the heroism of the grand-ducal martyrs has been honored in Alapaevsk. In 2003, a memorial room dedicated to Saint Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna was opened in the building of the Napolnaya School.

In 2018, a unique museum exhibition was created, which tells not only about the tragic death but also about the life path of the Alapaevsk martyrs. This became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the Fund for the Revival of the Traditions of Mercy and Charity 'Elisaveta-Sergiev Educational Society' and the Sverdlovsk Regional Local History Museum named after O. E. Kler, with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as the administration and council of the city of Alapaevsk.
