The memorial-literary museum of Saltykov-Shchedrin, where the writer lived for two years, is located near the embankment in Tver. In the 1860s, Mikhail Yevgrafovich served as the vice-governor of Tver and lived in a stone house on Rybackaya Street. The museum was opened in honor of the 150th anniversary of the famous writer's birth. The exhibition features his family tree, various documents, photographs, personal belongings, manuscripts, and books. The museum's decor is complemented by paintings and panels by renowned Russian artists.

The museum is located in the center of Tver, between Stepan Razin Embankment and Pushkin Square. Nearby are Soviet Square, the monument to Prince Mikhail of Tver, Moscow Square, and the Chernobyl Heroes Park. Close to the museum are public transport stops "Moscow Square" and "Soviet Square."
