The "Wonder Forest" Museum in Kostroma, a private interactive fairy-tale museum, was founded in 2013 by N. P. Zabavina. Its exhibition features works of decorative and applied arts as well as folk crafts, including items made from wood, birch bark, and other natural materials.

The museum is located in a specially built building resembling a fairy-tale hut. Under the thick canopies of trees, visitors are greeted by forest inhabitants and characters from folk tales, beliefs, and legends. The museum's exhibition vividly and thoroughly tells the story of wood, showcasing the forest as a provider, builder, healer, and a source of incredible beauty and spiritual strength for the people.

The museum also hosts educational programs and engaging workshops that teach traditional artistic crafts and trades related to the processing of wood and natural materials.
