Museum 'Kutuzov's Hut'

Фото 1
The museum 'Kutuzov's Hut' tells about one of the events of the Patriotic War of 1812, the Military Council in Fil'y. Visitors enter a peasant house with icons in the red corner, a real Russian stove, and traditional utensils. It was on September 13, 1812, that Russian military leaders gathered here for a meeting and decided to surrender Moscow to the French without a fight. This was a difficult but necessary decision. The museum provides information about the reasons for convening the council, its participants, and how this decision affected the course of the war.

Currently, 'Kutuzov's Hut' is part of the historical and memorial complex of the Patriotic War of 1812 on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. The central object of the complex is the Panorama Museum 'Battle of Borodino,' which opened in 1962. On the park's territory, there is an obelisk with a mass grave of 300 heroes of the war who fell in the Battle of Borodino, a bust of M.I. Kutuzov, and a monument dedicated to him and the glorious sons of the Russian people.
