The Samara Military Historical Museum of the Privolzhsky-Ural Military District, previously known as the Museum of the History of the Troops of the Privolzhsky Military District, was opened on April 15, 1975, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The museum building, a monument of 19th-century architecture, was constructed in 1913 in the style of late Russian modernism according to the design of architect D.A. Werner.
