The Museum of the History of Arts and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is located in Nizhny Novgorod at 43 Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street. It was opened on June 17, 1975, and was established based on the collections of the Nizhny Novgorod State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, which began to be formed in the second half of the 19th century. A souvenir shop operates on the first floor of the building.

The museum features about 4,000 works of decorative and applied arts by masters from the Nizhny Novgorod region. The interiors of the museum recreate the atmosphere of a peasant dwelling, a merchant's house, and a rural church. The exhibition includes sections such as wood carving on peasant houses and household items, Gorodets gingerbread boards, and spoon-making crafts.

Also presented are wooden church sculptures and other cult objects, folk painting on wood, including Khokhloma, Gorodets, and Polkhovo-Maidan styles, as well as carved, painted, and woven folk furniture.

The exhibition covers artistic metalworking, including filigree, Cossack filigree, forging, copper and cast iron casting, Purikh bells, the production of locks, metal boxes, knives, and jewelry. Artistic bone processing, Varna carving, artistic stone processing, folk ceramics, folk textiles, hand weaving, Shakhun woven patterns, embroidery, stamping, lace-making, Balakhna lace, machine embroidery, and Gorodets gold embroidery are also featured. The exhibition is complemented by Russian folk women's costumes and folk toys from the Nizhny Novgorod region, including wooden and clay toys.

The museum organizes meetings with masters of traditional arts and crafts, as well as workshops on working with clay, making traditional dishes, basics of folk painting, creating Russian traditional dolls, and painting Easter eggs (pysankas).

Folk festivals are also held here, which include museum tours, performances by folk ensembles, folk games, and round dances.
