In 1995, a year after the passing of Boris Yakovlevich Ryauzov, a decision was made to establish a municipal cultural institution called the "Museum of Artist B. Ya. Ryauzov." The museum was allocated space in a building from the 1950s, located in the city center at 127 Lenin Street, opposite the V. I. Surikov Square, near the administration of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The grand opening of the museum took place in the anniversary year of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The work of the talented artist Boris Yakovlevich Ryauzov won the love of his fellow countrymen and recognition from professionals. He became the first Krasnoyarsk painter to receive the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR and the first to be elected a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. Ryauzov's name is known far beyond Krasnoyarsk, and his works are housed in more than 65 museums across the former USSR and in private collections in Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries.

The work of B. Ya. Ryauzov is actively studied by art historians. Additionally, the Museum of Artist B. Ya. Ryauzov serves as a popular venue for exhibitions of contemporary artists and relevant projects.
