The Museum of Russian Photography, known as MRF, is located in Kolomna. It was established through the private initiative of Mikhail Golosovsky, Galina Lukyanova, and Irina Alikina and is part of the structure of the Moscow Olympic Committee. The foundation of the museum's collection consists of their personal collections.

The museum's collection includes about 7,000 works, such as daguerreotypes, glass plates, negatives, slides, and photographs by authors whose work is connected to Russia. The museum also features more than 120 items of photographic equipment, ranging from the Magic Lantern to Leica.

The museum has been promoting Russian artistic photography from the 1840s to the present day, conducting scientific research and educational programs for children and adults.

Recently, more than 20 projects dedicated to scientific, artistic, and documentary photography have been presented to a wide audience in exhibition halls in Moscow and other regions.

The permanent exhibition "Historical Pages of Russian Photography" includes such areas as pictorialism, artistic photography, landscape, naturalistic photography, ethnographic photography of the second half of the 19th century, documentary photography, and studio photography. In recent years, works by Nikolai Andreev, Vasily Ulitin, Vasily Sokornov, Leonid Shokin, Boris Smelov, Igor Palmin, Lyalya Kuznetsova, Anatoly Garanin, Yuri Rost, Galina Lukyanova, Alexander Slyusarev, and others have been showcased.

A separate exhibition is dedicated to slides of the panorama of Moscow taken by Nikolai Rakhmanov from the bell tower of "Ivan the Great," as well as his self-constructed camera.
