The museum is dedicated to the work of artist Konstantin Vasilyev, who became famous for his works on historical and mythological themes. Thanks to his art, the heroes of ancient Russian epics and tales come to life. The museum houses 90% of his legacy, including paintings from the period of abstraction, landscapes, portraits, and a large cycle of works dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, created in his characteristic epic style. The Kazan museum of Konstantin Vasilyev surpasses the Moscow one in the completeness of presenting the artist's work, providing the most comprehensive understanding of his creations.

The main part of the exhibition consists of paintings that reflect the main direction of Vasilyev's creativity. These are plots from Scandinavian myths and ancient Russian epics, as well as lyrical-epic paintings on themes of Ancient Russia. Among the most famous works are "The Reaper," "By the Well," "Expectation," and the artist's last painting "The Man with the Owl," in which, according to legend, he predicted his own death.

There is also a small memorial museum with the artist's personal belongings. Thanks to the diversity of the exhibition, visitors can fully familiarize themselves with the creativity of Konstantin Vasilyev in all its variety.
