In Sormovo, in the semi-basement of a residential building, there is a small museum. The exhibition, consisting of more than 300 works, is displayed in two rooms. The museum was created over eight years by one person, Anatoly Ivanovich Novikov.

Anatoly Ivanovich was not a professional artist or sculptor, although he grew up in a family of icon painters. His grandfather and father were engaged in writing icons and painting churches in Suzdal, Murom, and Nizhny Novgorod. Anatoly Ivanovich himself dedicated 46 years to the "Krasnoe Sormovo" factory, rising from a clerk's apprentice to an economist and deputy head of the production and technical department. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and sports, and in his free time loved to spend time in the forest. When he turned 60, he retired, swapped his gun for a camera, and began photographing the wonders of the forest. He also brought back from the forest driftwood, roots, whimsical branches, and mushrooms. The factory provided him with a basement for free on the condition that he would organize a club for local boys, where they would learn to "revive dead wood." Gradually, the rooms filled with his creations.

After the master’s departure, his works were carefully preserved by his family, transforming the basement into a true temple of forest wonders. The museum is open for visits any day. The master's daughter, Elena Anatolyevna Novikova, gathered a team of enthusiasts and guides for the exhibition "Fantasies of Nizhny Novgorod Forests," and also organized the club "Under the Green Branch," uniting art lovers. Once a month, musical evenings are held here, romances are performed, poetry is read, skits are staged, and interesting events are discussed.

The A.I. Novikov Wooden Sculpture Museum is located in the northwestern part of the city, 10-15 minutes by public transport from the "Burevestnik" metro station.
